Home Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to address a rally at Kairana in Uttar Pradesh, which was in the limelight over alleged migration of Hindus, on November 7 as part of BJP's Parivartan Yatra in the poll-bound state.

BJP lawmaker Hukum Singh, who had stoked a controversy by claiming that many Hindus had migrated from Muslim-dominated Kairana in western Uttar Pradesh due to fear, today met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to apprise him of the law and order situation in the state.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today stepped up his attack on BJP over the issue of 'migration' of Hindus from Kairana, saying it is raising such "baseless" matters to "vitiate" the atmosphere in the poll-bound state.

A delegation of five opposition parties, including JD(U), CPI(M) and NCP, will on Thursday visit Kairana where it will meet residents and address a gathering of civil society, alleging that BJP's claim of exodus of Hindus and subsequent visit by a party team have created "anxiety and tension" in Western Uttar Pradesh.
