Shaligram Stones: Two Shaligram (non-anthropomorphic representations of Lord Vishnu in Hindu religion) stones dispatched from Nepal for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, reached their destination today.

The danger of a possible flash flood in Nepal and India was averted today as a landslide- dammed river started flowing normally after sweeping away debris that had blocked it, allowing thousands of people to return to their homes.

The Bihar government today sounded flood alert in five districts after a massive landslide, triggered by recent earthquakes, blocked the Kali Gandaki river at Benibazar in Myagdi district of Nepal, leading to accumulation of a huge volume of water there.
