Suresh Kalmadi, who cited dementia while asking for bail last year, attended a meeting of Parliament's Defence Consultative Committee. The 30-member committee is headed by Defence Minister AK Antony ; it has MPs from different parties from the Lok Sabha and Rajya SAbha. Their job is to supervise the long-term plans of the Defence Ministry.

A report on the Commonwealth Games has been tabled in Parliament, placing Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in the line of fire. The report, 800 pages long, is the work of the government's auditor, and gives Mrs Dikshit a failing grade largely on account of the massive over-expenditure for the Games.
