The Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought the reply of sacked CWG Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi to a plea for stopping him from going to London for the 2012 Olympics and asked him not to advance his slated July 26 departure for it.

CWG: Court dismisses plea against Switzerland company

The High Court today dismissed a plea against Swiss Timing - a Switzerland-based company in an ongoing corruption case linked with the Commonwealth Games, held in the capital in 2010. The plea in the High Court sought a stay on lower court proceedings against Swiss Timing.

Suresh Kalmadi has been granted bail by the Delhi High Court. He was arrested in April last year for alleged corruption - as chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Commonwealth Games, Mr Kalmadi allegedly sanctioned an inflated contract for timing equipment and scoreboards.

Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued a notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seeking its response to the bail plea of Congress MP Suresh Kalmadi, accused of corruption in the organisation of the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games (CWG). The High Court cited the Supreme Court ruling that bail should be the rule and jail an exception.
