Kamal Nath To Quit Congress

Amid a strong buzz of him quitting the Congress and joining the BJP, sources close to Kamal Nath have told NDTV that while he has not resigned from the party yet, he is unhappy with what is happening there.

Kamal Nath -- former Chief Minister-turned-Madhya Pradesh Congress chief -- has been asked to step down from the post, sources said a day after the party got decimated in a state they were sure of winning.

Jajpal Singh Jajji -- one of the 22 MLAs who quit the Congress with Jyotiraditya Scindia, bringing down the 15-month-old Congress government headed by Kamal Nath in March 2020 -- is likely to lose his assembly membership.

Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath on Sunday said the party would not stop anyone from quitting and that he would lend his car if any member wants to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The BJP today said the crisis in the Congress in Rajasthan is "of its own making" -- similar to what it said when Jyotiraditya Scindia and his aides quit the party in Madhya Pradesh, pulling down the Kamal Nath government.
