Four kanwarias from Haryana were killed and eight others injured when a boulder fell on their vehicle in the Tehri district of Uttarakhand on Sunday, the police said.

Popularly known as ''Golden Baba'', Sudhir Makkar participated in the 26th Kanwar Yatra this year in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, wearing 16 kg of gold. He has reduced four kgs of gold this year due to health issues.

Kanwars and devotees will be exempted from the "No Helmet, No Fuel" policy that prohibits two-wheeler riders without helmet from getting fuel in Noida and Greater Noida, officials said on Thursday.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday that DJs and loudspeakers will be allowed during the annual 'Kanwar Yatra' only if they play bhajans or devotional songs, not remixes and filmy songs.
