Sounding upbeat after forming a coalition government in Maharashtra, the Congress in Karnataka on Sunday made it clear that it was not averse to joining hands with JD(S) once again in case the ruling BJP fails to garner required number of seats to be in the majority after December 5 bypolls.

The Congress on Saturday released a list of six candidates for the December 5 assembly bypolls in Karnataka.

A day after he joined the BJP, disqualified legislator H Vishwanath claimed that former Congress leader and now BJP MP Srinivas Prasad had approached him and said he should lead the team to bring back BS Yediyurappa to the chief ministerial post.

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the pleas of the disqualified Karnataka MLAs whose resignations led to the fall of the Congress-JDS coalition and for which they were barred from elections till 2023
