IBC and the government of Karnataka have signed a pact to set up a recyclable lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant. The project will involve an investment of Rs. 8,000 crore and IBC will establish the Li-ion battery manufacturing unit on a 100-acre parcel of land in the Bengaluru Rural district.

The Karnataka government on Wednesday said it has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Foxconn, a major iPhone assembler for tech giant Apple, to undertake two marquee projects in the state with an estimated investment worth Rs 5,000 crore.

Foxconn, a major iPhone assembler for Apple, has proposed to set up a Rs 8,800 crore supplementary plant to that of the unit at Devanahalli Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in Karnataka, the state's Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil said on Monday.

The State Industries and Commerce Department has cleared a total of 78 investment proposals worth Rs 5,298.69 crore promising 13,917 jobs.

The company will be establishing its production base in Karnataka and is evaluating a few ready commercial projects in Lower-Parel for a 40,000 sq ft office.

The solar energy company said it has tied up approximately $309 million for the project finance of its over 450 MW large-scale utility as well as commercial and industrial solar power projects in the states of Karnataka, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.

The Karnataka government on Wednesday approved three projects, including that of PepsiCo India and Biocon, committing total investment of Rs 2,211 crore.

Country's largest power producer NTPC expects to commission the first 800 mw unit of its 4,000 MW Kudgi super thermal power project in Karnataka in the current fiscal.
