Y Bhaskar Rao, who retired as chief justice of the Karnataka High Court, took office today and said he would like the public to email complaints to him. Not just yet, though. Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said on Sunday that the state would get a new Lokayukta in the next 15 days. Gowda said he has written to the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Justice Vikramjit Sen and leaders of the opposition in both houses of state legislature, Siddaramaiah and Motamma.

BS Yeddyurappa has been asked by the BJP to resign immediately as Karnataka Chief Minister. After a meeting at party president Nitin Gadkari's house, the party announced that Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh will fly to Bangalore tomorrow to decide on who will succeed Mr Yeddyurappa.
