Kashmir Students Protests Schools Shut

Protests broke out in several parts of Kashmir Valley today after a three-year-old child was raped allegedly by her neighbour in the Bandipore district. Schools and colleges were shut in the district after students clashed with security forces and the police.

For six years, young people from Kashmir have been making headlines by cracking competitive national exams - the tough IIT and IAS. The closure of schools for the last three months, due to the unrest following the killing of terrorist Burhan Wani -- have thus hit the student community hard.
