Facing widespread ridicule after two of its invitees made unscientific claims during their lectures; the Indian Science Congress (ISC) has decided to go for a policy change, which will include stipulating a process of selection of speakers and scrutinizing the content of their speech.

Nobel laureate Dr Amartya Sen has taken a leaf out of the BJP book and suggested the renaming of two things -- the "science" that claims Kauravas were test-tube babies, and Nalanda, the university which no longer conforms to the Buddhist ideals it once stood for.

A voluntary science body Saturday condemned the ''Kauravas were test tube babies'' claim made in the Indian Science Congress held in Punjab's Jalandhar, saying it was "wrong to mix mythology and science".

The Vice Chancellor of Andhra University has said that India possessed the knowledge of stem cell research, test tube fertilisation and even guided missiles thousands of years ago, providing as evidence, tales from the Indian epics Mahabharata and Ramayana.
