Three armed wildlife officers in Kenya were called out to reports of a stray lion on the loose - but soon it was discovered that it was actually a shopping bag in a hedge.

A lion caused panic on Wednesday after straying from its habitat in Nairobi National Park into a crowded neighbourhood during morning rush hour south of the Kenyan capital.

A male lion that strayed into rush hour traffic in the Kenyan capital on Friday injured one man before being captured and taken back to a reserve that lies on the edge of the city, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) said.
