A 61-year-old man was injured when a suspected country-made 'steel bomb' kept under an unused jeep exploded at the collectorate-cum-district courts complex in Kollam today.

Not far from the temple where 109 people were killed in a fire in Kollam in Kerala, three cars have been found abandoned, packed with sacks full of explosives. A bomb disposal squad visited the spot as a precaution. The police has said the explosives will be defused by experts tomorrow.

Sniffer dogs, anti-sabotage checking and bomb squad would conduct freqent checking inside the stadium, he said, adding, as part of integrated security system, about 50 cameras would be installed at the stadium.
