The Dalai Lama today expressed sadness over the loss of lives and property due to the heavy rains and landslides in Kerala and offered financial assistance for the state's relief and rescue efforts.

The Centre Friday assured all possible support including more financial assistance to flood-ravaged Kerala to rehabilitate the affected people.

After the worst rain and floods in a century, Kerala is slowly inching towards the road to recovery. Rescue operations now over, the focus has shifted to providing relief and rehabilitation to the over one million people displaced by the floods.
