The Cabinet approved public private partnership mode for the rollout of BharatNet project for broadband services in villages in 16 states with viability gap funding of Rs. 19,041 crore, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

Kerala to have 557 model villages

A total of 557 villages in Kerala would be declared as model villages in the next financial year. Seventeen village offices had already been announced as model village offices, which had been fully computerised and various services offered to people without delay, official sources said on Sunday.
