Elections 2019: Three CPI(M) Activists Booked For 'Bogus Voting' In Kerala

Three women activists of the ruling CPI(M), including a panchayat member, have been booked on charges of bogus voting in Kasaragod Lok Sabha constituency during the April 23 polls, police said Thursday.

Early leads for Kerala elections show the Left front ahead, with the incumbent Congress coalition trailing. Kerala has a total of 140 seats. The panchayat elections recently held gave the Left 57% of the seats, with 42% for the Congress-led UDF. The BJP and others got the balance one percent.

A Kerala-based corporate group Anna Kitex will literally govern the entire panchayat for the first time after winning the elections. As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, Kitex Group launched a social platform Twenty20 and fielded 19 independent candidates, for all the wards.
