American singer-songwriter Kesha has revealed that she suffered a vocal cord haemorrhage during a live performance earlier this week in the United States.

"I'm so grateful for tonight and for the Billboard Music Awards for allowing me to sing. it's my form of prayer. it my therapy. it literally reaches the untouched corners of my soul," Kesha wrote on Instagram

The singer, who obtained her license to perform marriages online, also presided over the wedding ceremony of her lesbian friends Monique Morrison and Gretchen Helt in Malibu, California in 2012, before same-sex unions were legalized across the US earlier this year
