The Kerala Government Medical Officers' Association (KGMOA) is set to intensify its protest on Friday over the non-arrest of an alleged police trainee, accused of assaulting a doctor on duty at the district hospital of Alappuzha.

The Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) on Monday threatened to go on strike after Chief Minister Oommen Chandy refused to revoke action against five doctors for dereliction of duty leading to the death of a Bihari youngster.

Functioning of government hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts was partially affected today following a token strike by doctors protesting action against six doctors over the death of Satnam Singh, a youngster from Bihar, at a mental hospital here on August 4.
