An Indian man has been convicted in the US for his role in a fraudulent scheme to pay kickbacks to an undercover agent posing as a corrupt hedge fund manager in order to obtain financing for small, publicly traded companies.

Eight people, including seven Indian-Americans, have been charged for their alleged involvement in a scheme in which over 2.3 million dollars (around Rs 135 crore) were paid in bribes and kickbacks to executives of a medical cost management company to secure business from it.
