A case has been registered against Kishanlal, BJP MLA from Barkhera, his nephew and unknown persons for allegedly beating up the gunner of the district magistrate, a police officer said on Wednesday.

Five people were killed when a Deputy Superintendent of Police lost control over his SUV near Pune last evening, police said.

A prisoner facing murder trial, escaped from the court premises in Rajasthan's Rajsamand district. He was, however, nabbed soon after the incident, police said.Kaniram alias Kishanlal was being taken to the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Nathdwara when he escaped from the custody of policemen, they said.
