Kobad Ghandy Terror Charges

A Delhi court today acquitted Maoist ideologue Kobad Ghandy of terror charges, but convicted him for cheating and forgery, and sentenced him for the period which he has already spent in the jail, from September 2009.

A Delhi court on Monday paved the way for the trial of Maoist leader Kobad Ghandy under terror charges from September 4. According to police, Ghandy was involved in setting up a new network of the banned Communist Party of India-Maoist in Delhi. He was arrested from Delhi in September 20, 2009 while undergoing treatment for cancer.
