SpiceJet engineer Rohit Pandey, who died at the Kolkata airport on July 9 after getting stuck in the flaps of a plane's landing gear door, was untrained and working without any supervision, a DGCA committee has found.

Kolkata Flyover Collapse: Army Preps For All-Night Rescue

The army has sent five columns - around 400 soldiers and engineers - and three medical teams to Kolkata, where an under-construction flyover collapsed today, killing at least 18 people and trapping scores of people under hundreds of tons of steel and concrete. A special team of engineers from Panagarh-based Mountain Strike Corps is also on way.

Hours after a massive fire at a congested Kolkata market killed 19 people, another fire broke out at Sadar Bazar in north Delhi this evening. It took at least 20 fire engines to bring the fire under control.
