At least 11 persons were injured on Wednesday when a speeding private bus hit a pillar of a flyover in the eastern part of the city, a police officer said.

At least 11 people including 10 school children were injured when the bus in which they were travelling hit a traffic signal and then flipped over onto its side near Lockgate flyover in Chitpur area here on Monday, police said.

One person died and another was seriously injured after the Ferrari in which they were travelling met with an accident at Pakuria area of Domjur in West Bengal today.The crash took place at about 9:30 am said the police.

The Calcutta High Court today directed the West Bengal government to file an affidavit stating details regarding the flyover, part of which collapsed on March 31, killing 26 people and injuring 89 others.

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi is in Kolkata today and visited the site where an under-construction flyover collapsed and killed 25 people on Thursday. He also visited those injured in the accident at a hospital.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today directed the armed forces to provide all assistance in relief and rescue operations in the flyover collapse in Kolkata. At least 21 people have been killed in the accident.

Police in Kolkata sealed the offices of IVRCL, a Hyderabad-based builders, which was constructing the flyover in the city that collapsed killing at least 21 people and injuring around 80.

Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today criticised the slow pace of rescue operation by West Bengal government and demanded a CBI probe into the under-construction flyover collapse incident.
