The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), probing the killing of Kunda Deputy Superintendent of Police Zia-ul-Haque, today arrested the son of Balipur's village head Nanhe Yadav, who was also murdered. The accused, Babloo, has reportedly confessed to the CBI that he killed Mr Haque.

In a significant breakthrough, police have recovered the pistol of murdered Uttar Pradesh cop Zia-ul-Haque. Mr Haque, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Kunda, was killed along with a village headman and his brother in the Ballipur village of Pratapgarh in the state on March 2.
