Rajniti Prasad of Lalu's Rashtriya Janta Dal walked up to V Narayanasamy in the Rajya Sabha this evening and ripped up papers which he then flung while shouting "Lokpal nahin chalega" (Lokpal would not work).

After a fierce protest by Lalu Prasad, the government has decided to bring back the minority quota for the nine-member Lokpal or ombudsman in the Lokpal Bill, scheduled to be tabled in Parliament today.

The Lokpal Bill brought to Parliament today has altered the reservation quota to drop minorities for the nine members of the new Lokpal or ombudsman. Predictably, politicians like Lalu Prasad Yadav and Ram Vilas Paswan have objected fiercely to the change.
