Lead In Nestle Pasta

Nestle's pasta has now landed in trouble as its samples, tested at a state-owned food testing laboratory, were found to be carrying lead beyond the permissible limits.

Finding itself in a fresh row over its pasta product now, Nestle India on Friday said its products are safe to consume and it will work with the authorities to resolve the issue at the earliest.

Central food safety regulator FSSAI today ordered testing of various noodles, pasta and macaroni brands, including Top Ramen, Foodles and Wai Wai, manufactured by seven companies to check compliance of norms in the wake of Maggi controversy.
