Prime Minister Narendra Modi has, for the first time, commented on his government's decision to ban a documentary on the fatal Delhi gang-rape that triggered massive street protests and forced the introduction of tougher new laws to punish sexual crimes.

The Home Ministry, sources said, has sent a copy of the court order prohibiting the telecast of the documentary "India's Daughters," to the British Broadcasting Corporation or BBC, which aired it on Wednesday night in the UK and other countries.
