Security forces have killed seven terrorists during three counter-insurgency operations in north Kashmir's Kupwara distrcit.

Three terrorists have been killed during a fierce encounter with security forces in Lolab area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district.

According to police sources, seven terrorists were killed after a gunfight broke out on Monday between security forces and terrorists in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Security forces today busted a militant hideout in the Lolab area of Kupwara district near the Line of Control in North Kashmir and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition. Acting on a tip-off, a joint party of 28 Rashtriya Rifles and police busted the hideout at Chirdoori village in Lolab area, 120 km from Srinagar, police said.

The encounter between the security forces and the militants, alleged to be Lashkar -e-Toiba agents, in Kupwara district got over after eight hours, when all the militants were killed in the fierce gunbattle between the two sides.

There was ruckus in the state assembly after Abdullah Khan, a People's Democratic Party (PDP) MLA from Lolab constituency stood up and asked Speaker Akbar Lone to order a discussion on the inter district recruitment bill.
