Loss Due To Air India Strike

The strike by pilots of Air India continued for the 21st day on Monday, mounting the losses of the national carrier to more than Rs 300 crore due to the agitation by over 200-odd pilots, who are on strike despite the management terminating the services of 100-odd agitating pilots in the last two weeks.

Issuing yet another appeal to the striking Air India pilots to return to work, the government today promised to hear their grievances unconditionally without any vindictive action, as it noted that the stir had cost an "almost bankrupt" airline Rs 150 crore.
