Oxford University's first female vice-chancellor has stressed the importance of free speech and allowing extremist views to be aired on campus to teach students how to counter ideas they find objectionable.

The University of Oxford said today that it had nominated a female vice-chancellor for the first time in its history, naming terrorism expert Professor Louise Richardson to the chief executive role.

Roberts, Ambrose and Richardson received their knighthood at a presentation during the lunch interval of the game held at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium Friday. Antigua Governor General Louise Lake-Tack presented the three cricketers with their knighthood in a ceremony also attended by Prime Minister Baldwen Spencer.
