Amid massive shortage of petroleum products including LPG in Nepal following a ravaging earthquake, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today said that India will augment fuel supply to the neighbouring country to meet its requirement.

Transport companies dealing in Bulk LPG are on strike across south India, demanding a higher tariff. This has triggered fears of LPG shortage for domestic consumers.

It is not fuel shortage, but the unwillingness to align energy prices with market rates that poses a threat to country's economy, Planning Commission deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia said today.
