Scotland Yard has said that it has made eight more arrests in connection with the attack on Lieutenant General (retired) KS Brar, the officer who led Operation Bluestar in 1984. The fresh arrests come a day after four others, including a woman, were arrested in the case.

British police is treating the attack on Lt Gen (retd) K S Brar, the Operation Bluestar hero, as a case of an attempted murder, a spokesman said on Wednesday, adding the four assailants were of Asian origin.

On Tuesday night as Lt Gen KS Brar and his wife Meena were speaking calmly, in a matter of fact manner on NDTV, describing the circumstances under which they were attacked in London by what increasingly looks like pro-Khalistani elements, one couldn't but admire the brave couple for having warded off the assailants.

Scotland Yard has appealed for information from members of the public on the Sunday night assault on Lt Gen KS Brar, and described the four assailants as wearing dark clothing, long black jackets and having "long beards".
