Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday visited his constituency, Lucknow, where he said that BJP's big win in the national election shows the party's vote share increased in Uttar Pradesh despite the Samajwadi Party-Bahujan Samaj Party alliance in the state.

Voting for phase 5 of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections had begun at 7 am today morning. This phase had 51 parliamentary constituencies that saw polling across 7 states. As voting ended for the day, the 2019 general elections saw 424 of the total 543 Lok Sabha constituencies complete the polling process.
