A woman professor who heads the journalism department at a top university in Madurai in Tamil Nadu was stabbed on campus today.

Unlike its peers HCL is focusing on small towns to open training centres and already has such centres in Madurai and Lucknow.

Putting an end to the century-old practice of not serving non-vegetarian food in canteens on the campus of the Madras High Court, a group of lawyers on Friday served meat items to the litigants and public.

The Madras High Court criticised an autonomous college for dismissing a boy and a girl student, for reportedly being in possession of mobile phones inside the college campus and for traveling together in public bus after the college.
