Mahabharat To Be Taught In Schools

The Aam Aadmi Party today attacked Union minister Mahesh Sharma over his "irresponsible" remarks that lessons from the epic Mahabharata and the holy book, Gita may soon be taught in schools and colleges, alleging it was being done at the behest of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Press Council of India Chairman Markandey Katju today objected to a Supreme Court judge's statement that Gita and Mahabharat should be taught in schools, saying this is against India's secular feature and Constitution and will do it "great harm."
