Congress today accused Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik of "failing" to announce any action plan to resolve Mahanadi water issue and that he "decided against taking any step" to stop projects on theriver in Chhattisgarh in 2001 to benefit the industrialists.

The Odisha cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday empowered the state government to explore all possible options to protect the interests of the state on Mahanadi project dispute with Chhattisgarh, an official said.
