Addressing the Monsoon session of the Maharashtra state assembly, which has been adjourned till December 7, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced loan waiver for 29 lakh famers amid widespread floods and the coronavirus pandemic. He also sought "everyone's cooperation" in the fight against COVID-19.

Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Nana Patole on Friday said he has tested positive for coronavirus, two days before the monsoon session of the state legislature is scheduled to begin in Mumbai.
