Acid attack victim cremated after Maharashtra govt assures of CBI probe

A 23-year-old nurse who was attacked with acid over a month ago as she stepped off a train at Mumbai was cremated in Delhi this evening. Her family marched with her coffin, supported by members of Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Admi Party, to demand justice and a CBI investigation to track down the masked man who assaulted her.

15 dead in bus accident in Maharashtra

15 people have died in a bus accident in Mehkar Tehsil of Buldhana district of Maharashtra. Two buses collided head on, following which a fire started leading to the deaths. 35 people have been injured in the accident. The injured have been admitted to a govt hospital in the area. The two buses that collided were plying between Nagpur and Pune.

Medical services in Maharashtra were severely hit on Saturday as over 3,000 resident doctors in government hospitals across the state went on an indefinite strike to press for enhanced security at hospitals, even as talks with authorities proved unsuccessful, doctors said.
