Maid Beaten Up

A 48-year-old woman, who worked as a house help, was allegedly thrashed by her employers who also chopped off her hair in West Delhi's Rajouri Garden, police said on Thursday.

The woman's husband alleged that his wife Parveen, who left for Oman on February 21 to start her job, is being made to work in many houses as a maid and is also being beaten up by her employer.

A doctor who allegedly brutally assaulted her 14-year-old domestic help was arrested on Saturday, according to the Delhi Commission for Women. The teenage help was allegedly beaten up regularly, burnt, bitten and strangulated.

Hundreds of angry villagers threw stones outside a housing society in Noida near Delhi this morning alleging that a young woman employed as domestic help in one of the apartments was held captive overnight and beaten up by her employers because they suspected her of stealing money.
