Malappuram Lok Sabha Bypoll To Be Held With Kerala Assembly Election

The election to Malappuram Lok Sabha constituency, which fell vacant after the resignation of IUML MP Kunhalikutty, will be held simultaneously with the coming assembly polls, the Election Commission (EC) said on Sunday. The polls are due to be held in April-May.

Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) legislator PK Kunhalikutty has won the Malappuram by-poll in Kerala by 171,038 lakh votes. The IUML strongman remained far ahead of his nearest rival MB Faisal, Communist Party of India-Marxist candidate and youth leader. The BJP candidate N Sreeprakash came a distant third.
