Malayalam University In Thiruvananthapuram

A national conference of women writers of south Indian languages will be held at Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University in Malappuram district of Kerala from January 20.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said on Wednesday that the cabinet would take a decision on state Chief Secretary K Jayakumar's report on the steps to be taken for setting up a Malayalam University in the state.

Desheeya Malayala Vedi, an organisation to promote Malayalam language, has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy demanding immediate steps to establish the proposed Malayalam university in Thiruvananthapuram.
