37 more people have died in the Mumbai spurious liquor tragedy today, taking the total number of deaths to 90. Another 37 people continue to be critical in hospitals; the victims had consumed spurious liquor on Wednesday night. The incident occurred at Laxmi Nagar slum in Malwani area of suburban Malad.

A call centre employee allegedly set his wife ablaze in Malwani on Tuesday night. She was eight-months pregnant. The victim, Sadhna Sonawane (26), has sustained 90 per cent burns and is reported to be in a critical condition.

A pregnant woman was set on fire allegedly by her husband at their residence in suburban Malwani after she refused to give him money for liquor, police said on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Sadhana Sonavane, sustained 90 per cent injuries and is fighting for life at the civic body- run Bhagwati hospital, they said.
