A woman lost her life and five others including the Ujire Gram Panchayat chief were injured when the car in which the panchayat president's family members were travelling fell into a gorge in Dakshina Kannada district, police sources said.

A helmeted woman riding a scooty was critically injured on Saturday when a speeding BMW car jumped over a divider and crashed into her, throwing her under another car before the vehicle came to a stop in Mangaluru.

Two people died and three others were injured when a car in which they were travelling collided with a KSRTC bus at Dharmasthala near Mangaluru today, police said.
