In a rare order, the Supreme Court on Monday directed the Manipur government to pay Rs 3,000 per day to civil services aspirants from its violence-hit hill districts to travel outside the state to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

The CBI has registered a first information report (FIR) to probe alleged irregularities in the conduct of the Civil Services Mains examination for 2016 organised by the MPSC, officials said on Monday.

The Delhi High Court has allowed a man lodged in jail, facing prosecution in a murder case, to take the Manipur Civil Service examination.

Candidates can apply till February 3. The preliminary exam will be held at Imphal.
