Manmohan Singh Apologises For 1984 Riots

Congress leader Sam Pitroda's remarks on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots were "absolutely and completely out of line" and he should apologise for them, party chief Rahul Gandhi said in a Facebook post on Friday.

Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram today came out in support of his party president's comment on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and said Rahul Gandhi cannot be held responsible for something that took place when he was 13-14 years.

Rahul Gandhi today said that he completely shared the sentiments of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who had apologised and that of party president Sonia Gandhi, who had expressed regrets, over the 1984 riots.
