Maoist Couple Killed

A Maoist couple planning to get married and another person were killed by Maoists in separate attacks in the forests of Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police said today.

Three Maoists, including a couple, were today gunned down in a fierce encounter with security forces at different places of Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Bastar region, police said.

A Maoist couple was gunned down by police in Odisha's Koraput district, an official said on Friday. Chitrakam Reddy alias Sitru, 30, and his wife were killed in a forested area near Badamathur village, 600 km from here, on Thursday night when a police team raided a Maoist camp in the region following an intelligence input.
