Maoists Kidnap Villagers

Eight people, who were allegedly kidnapped by Maoistsin Chhattisgarh's Sukma district a few days back, were released unharmed and they have safely returned to their village, the police said on Wednesday.

A District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawan - kidnapped by Maoists - was found dead in a village last night in Chhattisgarh's Sukma, police said.

The body of a college student, who was kidnapped by Maoists on Saturday night, has been found near Kundanpal village of Sukma district on Sunday.

The bullet riddled body of a 'Gaon Sathi' was found today near a village a day after he was kidnapped allegedly by Maoists in Kandhamal district, the police said.

Nine persons were abducted by Maoists from the Mahupadar area of Malkangiri district, police said today.
