Eminent Punjabi writer and novelist Gurdial Singh died in Bathinda after a brief spell of illness, his family said. He was 83.

About 200 tourists stranded at Gulaba on Manali-Rohtang Road, 22 KM from Manali, due to snowfall were rescued by the local administration but over 50 tourists were still stuck as the link road had been breached due to snow and rains.
