Inspired by astronaut Mark Watney, a character played by Hollywood actor Matt Damon in the critically acclaimed movie "The Martian", scientists have published the first case study on how future astronauts can learn to farm on the Red Planet.

Defending champion Kyle Stanley, 2011 winner Mark Wilson and 2010 champion Hunter Mahan also are entered in the January 31-February 3 event along with Rickie Fowler, Nick Watney, Carl Pettersson, Nicolas Colsaerts and Lucas Glover.

Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy moved closer to the Match Play Championship title, and the No.1 ranking that would come with it, by winning their matches Friday and reaching the quarterfinals.
