A local Samajwadi Party (SP) leader has been booked for allegedly raping an 18-year-old woman several times and threatening to kill her, in Uttar Pradesh's Mau district, police said on Sunday.

As many as four people have died on Friday after a wall collapsed in Uttar Pradesh's Mau district, police said.

Dara Singh Chauhan, Samajwadi Party MLA from Ghosi in Mau district, resigned from the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Saturday.
